Sports physical therapy is specialized rehab designed for athletes. It goes beyond basic recovery. We focus on getting you back to full performance, not just pain-free movement. Every session is built around your sport, your body, and your goals.
As for “physical therapy”, The Oxford dictionary describes it as “the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.”
But to put it simply, physical therapists are the mechanics of the body. We get you feeling better, without all the pain (hell to the yeah).
We help you move, groove, and get back to living your best life. Because nobody has time to be injured and life is way too short to not live a life you love.
-
We offer one-on-one, private sessions. No shared gym floors, no rotating staff, no cookie-cutter programs. Every visit is with the same sports physical therapist who knows your history, your sport, and where you're headed.
-
Both, and in the right order. We start by addressing the injury, then build your strength and mobility back up, then layer in the sport-specific training your body needs to perform confidently again.
-
Yes. We work with post-surgical athletes recovering from shoulder, elbow, knee, hip, and ankle procedures. We coordinate with your surgeon's protocol and progress you at the right pace so nothing gets rushed or skipped.
-
Not at all. Whether you play professionally, compete recreationally, or just want to stay active without pain, you belong here. If sports and movement matter to you, that's enough.
-
Yes. Sports PT isn't only for recovery. If you have movement limitations, muscle imbalances, or weak links that are holding your performance back, we can address those before they become injuries.

Ideally, your physical therapist is well-versed in YOUR sport. I’m a physical therapist who uses my athlete brain to inform sessions and treatments. Inside my clinic, there isn’t a difference. Everyone is treated like an athlete.
If your goal is to return to sport, not just reduce pain, a sports physical therapist is the better fit. Sports PT is specifically designed to address athletic demands, meaning your treatment will include sport-specific movement, performance-based strength work, and a recovery plan built around getting you back to competing. A general PT program may not take your sport, position, or performance goals into account. If staying active and returning to the game matters to you, sports physical therapy is where you start.

I love working with all athletes and helping them get back in the game. It’s kinda my thing.
Some of the people I’ve worked with include: runners, hockey players, soccer players, softball players, baseball players, football players, Crossfit athletes, and cyclists.

A sports physical therapist treats a wide range of injuries and conditions that affect athletes, including ACL tears, rotator cuff injuries, meniscus tears, ankle sprains, Achilles tendonitis, tennis elbow, stress fractures, muscle strains, and post-surgical recovery. If you're an athlete dealing with pain, limited mobility, or a recent injury, sports physical therapy can help you recover fully and get back to competing at your best.

The short answer is: no. I do not bill insurance directly. However, after each visit you will receive a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. You can also use your HSA/FSA card here.
I created a page that details all of my pricing, which you can find more information on here.
The long answer: I work for you, not the insurance company. Not billing insurance means that I can provide you with a full 55-minute session, one-on-one support, and the most effective treatment for your current condition. This means that your care is based on what you actually need, not just what your insurance pays for. This allows me to take a more comprehensive approach to your rehab by treating multiple areas (if needed), reviewing and editing your current workout routine, and working to prevent future injuries.
-
Nope! My clinic policy and Washington State law allows you to go see a physical therapist directly WITHOUT the need for a referral from your doctor (yay!).
However, if you plan to submit for insurance reimbursement, you’ll want to check with your insurance company to see if they require one. Just call the number on the back of your insurance card and the agent can tell you whether your plan requires you to have a referral for physical therapy.

I’d recommend wearing whatever you’d normally wear to the gym. You want to be comfortable because we will be moving.
It also depends on where you’re injured. If you normally wear pants to the gym but experience leg pain, bring a pair of shorts as well. If you normally wear a t-shirt but have shoulder pain, please bring a tank top so I can get a better look at the area. The more I can see and observe the injured area, the better!
But as always, your comfort is most important.
