Physical Therapy for Runners in Kennewick, WA

Find your stride and get back on course. Your next PR is right around the corner.

You’re ready to start feeling like yourself again. Maybe it’s a sprained ankle or a hamstring strain. I’ve been there too - starting from square one after an injury and building back up to running at a pace that feels like normal. It’s possible, but need the right support and the most effective treatment. Praying for the pain to “just go away” isn’t going to cut it anymore.

At Game Changer, I help runners in the Kennewick and greater Tri-Cities area recover from injury, get stronger, and return to running feeling better than ever before.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • From shin splints and IT band syndrome to Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and stress fractures, I handle a wide range of running injuries here in Kennewick. If it's slowing you down or keeping you off the road, there's a good chance I can help.

  • It depends on the injury, but most runners start seeing real progress within four to six sessions. During your free discovery call, I'll talk through what recovery could look like for your specific situation so you know what to expect.

  • Both. At Game Changer, I don't just get you back to where you were. I work on building you back up stronger so you can hit new PRs and keep running for the long haul.

  • Absolutely. A lot of running injuries come down to imbalances or weaknesses that build up over time. If you're training in the Tri-Cities area and want to stay healthy and keep logging miles, preventive PT with Game Changer is a smart move.

  • Resting might take the pressure off, but it doesn't fix what caused the injury in the first place. At Game Changer, I zero in on the root of the problem and build a plan that gets you running again safely, not just eventually.

  • Everything I do at Game Changer starts with you. I look at your goals, your training, how your body moves, and what's been holding you back, and then I build a plan that actually makes sense for your life as a runner.

  • In a lot of cases, yes. I'd rather keep you moving in a way that supports your recovery than have you sitting on the sidelines longer than you need to. Together, we'll figure out what's safe for you right now.

  • The Oxford dictionary describes it as “the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.”

But to put it simply, physical therapists are the mechanics of the body. We get you feeling better, without all the pain (hell to the yeah).

We help you move, groove, and get back to living your best life. Because nobody has time to be injured and life is way too short to not live a life you love.

  • Nope! My clinic policy and Washington State law allows you to go see a physical therapist directly WITHOUT the need for a referral from your doctor (yay!).

However, if you plan to submit for insurance reimbursement, you’ll want to check with your insurance company to see if they require one. Just call the number on the back of your insurance card and the agent can tell you whether your plan requires you to have a referral for physical therapy.

  • The short answer is: no. I do not bill insurance directly. However, after each visit you will receive a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. You can also use your HSA/FSA card here.

The long answer: I work for you, not the insurance company. Not billing insurance means that I can provide you with a full 55-minute session, one-on-one support, and the most effective treatment for your current condition. This means that your care is based on what you actually need, not just what your insurance pays for. This allows me to take a more comprehensive approach to your rehab by treating multiple areas (if needed), reviewing and editing your current workout routine, and working to prevent future injuries.

  • I truly love working with all athletes and helping them get back in the game.

Some of the athletes I’ve worked with include: runners, hockey players, soccer players, softball players, baseball players, Crossfit athletes, and cyclists.

  • I’d recommend wearing whatever you’d normally wear to the gym. You want to be comfortable because we will be moving.

It also depends on where you’re injured. If you normally wear pants to the gym but experience leg pain, bring a pair of shorts as well. If you normally wear a t-shirt but have shoulder pain, please bring a tank top so I can get a better look at the area. The more I can see and observe the injured area, the better!

But as always, your comfort is most important.

  • So we’ve booked the initial evaluation - now, what’s the next step?

You’ll receive welcome emails from my software, PTEverywhere. You’ll be asked to sign-in (create an account) and fill out the intake paperwork online. If you are not able to fill out the information online, please reach out to kacie@ptgamechanger.com for assistance.

Once all of your paperwork is signed, it’s a go! Next up, initial evaluation.

  • Welcome to Game Changer! I ask that you arrive about 5 minutes before the start of your appointment. Please feel free to wait in your car or enjoy a little shopping inside the Runners Soul store.

At the time of your appointment, I will meet you inside Runners Soul and walk you back to my office for your session.

  • Your first session is all about understanding where you're at and where you want to go. I'll look at how you move, talk about your running goals, and start putting together a plan that's built around you so I can get you back on course as fast as possible.
